5 biggest benefits of living in a movable Tiny House
Benefits of living in a movable Tiny House are quite subjective. You can agree or disagree, each of us have a different experience or point of view about it. However, I selected 5 main ideas to understand better why people do fancy the Tiny House move !
What to keep in mind
All familiar with the Japanese minimalist lifestyle? Yes, right, they can live in 5 m2 room in the middle of Tokyo. Alright, we do not have the same culture… but you get my point ! It is actually crazy how you feel released once you get rid of useless stuff. You feel lighter, ready to travel without a huge suitcase.
The purpose of minimalism is to point out how happy you can be with a 20 m² house instead of 90 m². Truly, it works. I bet you will try to fill up your 90 m² house with whatever you got in your hands, to do not feel sick in that emptiness. [I am not a fan either]. In contrary my friend, living in a movable Tiny House of 20 m² will kick your ass to think hard ! Why ? Because this time you want SPACE.
It is tricky, I know. More space, less stuff. Anyway, If you have kids, that is even better. They can grow up seeing you as a model and consequently, become good citizens of this world.
Going smaller helps you to optimize the space but also your sources ! Instead of having a bath and a shower, you would have to pick one but not both. Chosing a standard toilet might become complicated on the road, composting toilet are quite amazing though. Water saved ! No more extra electronic devices all over the place. Energy saved ! No need to rise up the heat to maximum anymore. Your Tiny House would need a few minuts to spread that good warm feeling.
Slowly, you then gradually become aware of your own actions and their consequences. Global warming and pollution are an evidence for everybody. By living environmental-friendly, you are now offering a hand to save this beautiful planet ! Ok that is a bit overreacting… but at your scale, you can do many many MANY things. The best is to be a good example right ?
No more sleepless nights on this uncomfortable bed in that random hostel. No more street food every day while traveling (we want to keep that body fit !). No more extra expenses for resting somewhere. Either designed with
Off you go !
Going smaller means the drop in all kind of bills. I don’t invent anything… It is mathematical. Even if you borrow money to build or buy a Tiny House, the loan payment is significantly lower than a traditional mortgage. You won’t need to pay back during 30 years but probably 5 (maximum). Big step hein ?
Moreover, building one small house is obviously cheaper than building a bigger house. In that sense, living in a movable Tiny House allows you to select local and natural materials to build that cozy nest. Not everyone can afford a wooden standard house. At least not yet. So in the meantime, we deal with this kind of beautiful alternative !
